ILAN Advocates for Enhanced Training in Nigerian Insurance

On Wednesday, Pastor Ikechukwu Udobi, the President of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria (ILAN), paid a courtesy visit to the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM). During this visit, he called for enhanced training, collaboration, and stronger market compliance within the Nigerian insurance sector.

Udobi expressed gratitude to NAICOM's Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, for the successful revision of loss adjusters' scale of fees, describing it as a significant milestone towards revitalizing the profession, which has faced stagnation for decades.

He highlighted the necessity for continuous capacity-building programs, particularly in specialized areas such as energy, oil and gas, and special risks. Udobi stressed the importance of strict compliance with existing laws and market guidelines, urging NAICOM to ensure that market operations fully comply with statutory requirements.

Omosehin welcomed the ILAN delegation and assured them of NAICOM's commitment to supporting all segments of the insurance industry as part of a broader transformation agenda.
