Ilenikhena Shines with Debut Goal for Super Eagles

Ilenikhena, a forward for Al-Ittihad, made a remarkable debut for the Super Eagles on September 27, scoring in a 2-1 victory against Madagascar during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying opener held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. After Madagascar took an early lead through Ehsan Khari, Ilenikhena scored in the first half, contributing to Nigeria's comeback alongside Moses Usor.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali played a crucial role with a vital save in the second half. The 20-year-old expressed his happiness and pride in scoring his first goal for the national team, citing Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha and Victor Osimhen as his inspirations.

He emphasized his commitment to working hard for the team and hopes to score more goals. Ilenikhena also highlighted his good relationship with teammate Akor Adams.
