During an episode of the Wahala podcast on Tuesday, Nigerian singer Ayra Starr expressed her views on relationships and financial dynamics. She stated that if she were to earn more money than her partner, she would take control of the relationship due to her stronger financial position.

Despite this, she emphasized that she would still expect her partner to take on financial responsibilities, asserting that a woman's higher earnings should not eliminate the man's role as a provider. Ayra Starr also mentioned that she would prefer to keep her wealth discreet, indicating that she would not fully disclose her financial status to her partner.

She articulated, “If I date a man who I am richer than, I will control him. But even if I am richer, he will still be providing, and I won’t let him know I have a lot of money.”.
