Wike Vows to Give Successor Free Hand in Rivers State Management

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State pledges to give his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, a free hand to manage the state affairs. This comes after the imposition of emergency rule by President Bola Tinubu due to political rifts between Wike and his predecessor.

Wike emphasized that he would recommend commissioners to Fubara but would not impose anything on him, ensuring the new governor has autonomy. The crisis in Rivers State has been linked to alleged political appointee imposition by Wike.

The governor made these statements during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today. Wike stressed the importance of allowing the new governor to govern the state as he sees fit without interference.
