Portable Expresses Pain Over Low Streaming Revenue

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has publicly lamented the poor streaming revenue he receives from his music, despite releasing a new song every month. In a recent video broadcast, Portable highlighted that his earnings from platforms like Apple Music are disappointingly low, particularly in Nigeria, where streaming costs are cheaper.

He noted that while he has a fan base abroad, the revenue generated from foreign streams is still inadequate. Portable specifically called on music executive Don Jazzy for assistance in boosting his streaming revenue, expressing his pain over the situation.

He emphasized the need for guidance on how to effectively monetize his music on streaming platforms, as he currently earns a mere 17 naira from his Apple Music account. Portable's situation underscores the challenges faced by many artists in Nigeria regarding fair compensation from digital music platforms.
