South-South Professional Women Criticize Impeachment Move Against River State Governor Fubara

The South-South Professional Women Association (SSPWA) has condemned the impeachment attempt against River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, labeling it as self-serving. The move, initiated by the State House of Assembly, accuses Fubara of squandering state resources and hindering legislative collaboration.

Prof. Roselin Konya of SSPWA refuted the allegations, emphasizing Fubara's commitment to the state's welfare.

Dr. Constance Mbang, SSPWA's national president, criticized lawmakers for demanding huge sums for constituency projects, highlighting a lack of transparency in budgetary processes.

The group also expressed concern over the impeachment proceedings against Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu.

Meanwhile, former Vice Admiral Ibok Et Iba (Rtd) was implicated in the misallocation of funds for constituency projects. The SSPWA praised the River State Chief Judge for rejecting the impeachment panel, questioning the motives behind the move.
