NUPRC Chief Calls for Unified Regulatory Voice in African Energy Projects

Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), addressed the issue of inconsistent regulatory frameworks hindering energy projects across African countries at the Nigerian International Energy Summit. He stressed the importance of a unified regulatory voice to reduce investment risks and accelerate development in the energy sector.

Eyesan also mentioned the establishment of AfriPERF, a collaborative effort for regulatory convergence in the petroleum sector across Africa. The goal is to provide a predictable environment for faster execution of cross-border projects and shared prosperity.

Africa's vast natural resources, growing population, and youthful workforce present opportunities for coordinated policies, integrated infrastructure, and aligned regulatory frameworks to drive industrialization and enhance energy security for inclusive growth.
