Sterling Bank Eliminates Account Maintenance Fees for Nigerians

Sterling Bank in Nigeria has announced the scrapping of Account Maintenance Fees (AMF) across personal accounts, effective immediately. This decision aligns with the bank's commitment to customer financial freedom and transparency.

The bank had previously abolished transfer fees for local online transactions in April 2025. The Managing Director, Abubakar Suleiman, emphasized the importance of removing barriers for customers and promoting lasting relationships.

Obinna Ukachukwu, the Growth Executive of Consumer Business Banking at Sterling Bank, highlighted the focus on customer value and financial independence for millions of Nigerians.
