Kano Governor Calls for Removal of Partisan Police Commissioner

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State criticized the Commissioner of Police for unethical and partisan behavior during Nigeria's Independence Day parade. Yusuf urged President Bola Tinubu to remove the commissioner for withdrawing from the ceremony, disrupting the historic event.

The governor emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in Kano and denounced the police's involvement in partisan politics. He called for security agencies to focus on their constitutional duty of safeguarding lives and property without engaging in political activities.

Yusuf's remarks were made during the parade held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano to mark Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary.
