INEC Chairman Approves Promotion of 471 Junior Staff Amid Removal Rumors

INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu has approved the promotion of 471 junior staff amidst rumors of his removal. The decision was made during a meeting where preparations for upcoming elections were reviewed.

The promotion process was conducted in line with the recommendations of the Appointment, Promotion, and Disciplinary Committee. A total of 515 staff were shortlisted, with 471 meeting the requirements for promotion across different grade levels.

This move marks the first phase of promoting deserving junior staff within the commission, emphasizing transparency and merit-based advancement.
