APPOEMN to Train 1,000 Waiters for Global Standards

The Association of Professional Party Organizers and Event Managers in Nigeria (APPOEMN) announced a plan to train 1,000 waiters as part of activities marking the International Waiters Day, scheduled for May 19, 2026. This initiative is the first of its kind in Nigeria's event industry and aims to equip participants with world-class service skills, professional ethics, and practical knowledge necessary to thrive in the competitive hospitality sector.

Public Relations Director Sakirat Bello stated that the training reflects APPOEMN's commitment to improving standards and strengthening the capacity of service personnel, who play a critical role in the success of hospitality operations. The program is designed to enhance service delivery and promote global best practices in the hospitality event industry.

APPOEMN President Ayiri Oladunmoy emphasized the importance of empowering individuals in the service profession, while Education Director Adeola Sessi Traor noted the vital role waiters play in shaping guest experiences, despite often being overlooked.
