Ireland's Department of Enterprise Lists Critical Skills Jobs

Ireland's Department of Enterprise has published the full list of occupations eligible for the Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP), which identifies professional roles in high demand and short supply within the country’s labor force. The Critical Skills Occupations List (CSOL) encompasses a wide range of highly skilled professions across sectors such as medicine, information and communications, engineering, law, finance, education, and the sciences.

This permit scheme is designed to attract qualified international workers to address gaps that local talent cannot fill. The list includes 24 occupational categories and is particularly relevant for Nigerian professionals and others from Africa working in sectors like healthcare, engineering, ICT, and finance, where they are often highly trained but face limited opportunities domestically due to ongoing economic challenges.
