Alexander Isak Calls Liverpool Transfer an Easy Choice

Alexander Isak, the Sweden striker, joined Liverpool from Newcastle on transfer deadline day in September 2025 for a British record transfer fee of £125 million. He described the decision to move to Liverpool as “easy,” citing the club's size and ambition as significant factors.

Isak missed pre-season training last summer while at Real Sociedad amid uncertainty regarding his future at Newcastle, where he felt promises had been “broken.” In his first season at Liverpool, he struggled to score and suffered a leg break that sidelined him from December to April. However, this season, Isak has already matched his previous season's tally of three Premier League goals in just four games.

He expressed that he never regretted the move and emphasized the importance of looking forward despite the challenges faced, including his injury. Isak also made his World Cup debut for Sweden, scoring once and assisting three goals before the team was eliminated by France in the last 32.
