American YouTuber iShowSpeed, officially known as Darren Jason Watkin Jr, has been granted Ghanaian citizenship after a month-long tour across Africa. The announcement was made by Ghana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Minister Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa confirming the issuance of a Ghanaian passport to the 21-year-old influencer.

This decision is part of Ghana's "Beyond the Return" initiative aimed at fostering ties with the African diaspora. iShowSpeed's tour, spanning 20 African countries, focused on showcasing the continent's culture, tourism, technology, and everyday experiences to his 50 million YouTube subscribers. The Ministry commended iShowSpeed for projecting Ghana and Africa in a positive light to a global audience, describing him as a fitting ambassador.
