Kumuyi highlighted that the mandatory courtship period was no longer compulsory and was a human arrangement, not a biblical directive. The clarification was made during the 2025 Global Family Marriage Conference.

Kumuyi also mentioned the establishment of a marriage committee within the church to provide guidance, replacing human regulations with biblical authority.
