Italian Media Delegation Visits Operation HADIN KAI HQ

During a courtesy visit by Mr Valerio Cataldi, Bureau Chief of African Voices, to the Headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer, presented an operational assessment. Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander, reaffirmed that Operation HADIN KAI aims to restore normalcy in the Northeast while facilitating economic recovery and civilian resettlement.

He highlighted that intelligence-driven operations and the disruption of terrorist logistics have led to the surrender of terrorist commanders and improved security for farming communities. Major General Abubakar also noted compliance with International Humanitarian Law and emphasized civilian harm mitigation in operational planning.

Despite ongoing threats from improvised explosive devices and armed drones, enhanced operational capabilities and strategic partnerships have improved the security environment. Mr Cataldi stated that the Italian media delegation aimed to document the sacrifices and achievements of Nigerian troops and the human impact of terrorism.
