Dangote Cement Expands Export Capacity with Itori Plant

The Itori plant of Dangote Cement (NGX: DANGCEM), located in Ogun State, is entirely export-oriented and will serve as a central hub for the company's export strategy to neighboring markets and sister companies across Africa. Mr. Arvind Pathak, the Group Managing Director/CEO of Dangote Cement, announced during the Dangote Cement Capital Market Day presentation in London that the first phase of the Itori plant is expected to deliver six million tonnes of capacity, with current output at three million tonnes and a target of five million tonnes for the next year.
The plant will primarily produce clinker for export to countries such as Cameroon and Senegal, with about 60 percent of clinker sourced internally. Clinker will be transported by road to Apapa for export, utilizing existing infrastructure with no additional capital expenditure required.
The Itori plant is strategically positioned to support markets in the region, leveraging Nigeria's limestone advantage, and is part of Dangote Cement's broader plan to reach 80 million tonnes of capacity through brownfield expansions.
