ITU and Nigeria Partner to Bridge Digital Divide by 2030

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Nigeria, represented by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), have signed an agreement to address the digital divide and promote global connectivity. The plan aims to connect the 23 million underserved and unserved residents in Nigeria to the digital world by 2030.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the ITU's roadmap to bring digital benefits to the global population. The recent World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC 25) in Baku, Azerbaijan, saw the adoption of the Baku Action Plan, emphasizing human-centric digital development and inclusivity for a sustainable digital future.
