Nigerian Actor Emeka Okoye Speaks Out Against Discrimination in Nollywood Casting

Emeka Okoye, a Nigerian actor, disclosed in an interview with Seun Oloketuyi on Nollywood Radio that he has faced repeated rejections for movie roles in the industry due to his body size. Okoye expressed frustration at being told he is either too slim or too fat for certain characters, highlighting the discrimination he has faced based on his appearance.

He mentioned instances where even when he was younger and slimmer, he was still denied roles. Fellow actor Bukki Thomas also testified to facing similar challenges, emphasizing the industry's bias towards body size.
