Fubara Reaffirms Commitment to Women's Empowerment

On International Women's Day, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of River State expressed his commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality through a goodwill message. He acknowledged the pivotal role women play in shaping society and emphasized the need to create opportunities for women to thrive.

Fubara's administration has made significant strides in promoting women's development, evidenced by the appointment of women to key leadership positions. He announced an economic empowerment program that provides 1,000 women with grants of N50,000 each.

Additionally, Ladi Valeri Fubara, the governor's wife, supported women farmers by presenting N10 million to 20 women as part of the Renew Hope Initiative for agricultural support. The governor's media aide highlighted that International Women's Day, celebrated annually on March 8, serves to recognize women's struggles for equal rights and social justice while drawing attention to issues affecting women globally, including gender equality and reproductive rights.
