Jigawa Golden Stars Seek NFF Verdict Before Gombe United Rematch

Jigawa Golden Stars, a football club, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appeal committee to promptly deliver a verdict on the dispute surrounding their abandoned match against Gombe United. The first leg match, played on March 7, 2025, was abandoned, leading to a complaint to the NFF committee.

The committee ruled in favor of Golden Stars, imposing a fine of N2.5 million on Gombe United and ordering a rematch at a neutral venue. However, Gombe United has appealed the decision to the NFF appeal committee.

Ibrahim Isyaku, the club's spokesperson, emphasized the need for a final decision before rescheduling the match, calling for a postponement until the appeal is resolved. Despite the ongoing uncertainty, Golden Stars remain focused on their goal of earning promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
