Defence Minister Defends Airstrike at Jilli Market

In a statement made during an interview on Tuesday, Christopher Musa, the Minister of Defence, defended a deadly airstrike that occurred at Jilli Market, which led to the deaths of approximately 200 civilians. Musa dismissed claims that individuals in the market were innocent, insisting that they were involved with banditry.

He highlighted that the military had repeatedly warned civilians to avoid locations linked to insurgent activities. Despite the security risks, Musa noted that the high-profit trade in the area continued to attract people.

He emphasized the necessity of military actions in such areas to combat insurgency and reiterated that the individuals present during the airstrike were not innocent.
