“Jonathan Under Pressure to Join 2027 Race,” Analyst Reveals, Shares Details

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is under pressure to join the 2027 presidential race, according to analyst Dare Glintstone Akinniyi. The New Democratic Frontiers (NDF) spokesperson revealed that there is a division within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding potential candidates, with some supporting Jonathan and others backing former governor Peter Obi and Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde.

Akinniyi expressed concern about Jonathan's possible return and urged him to maintain statesmanship instead of entering the race. Despite the pressure, Akinniyi noted that Jonathan's candidacy could pose a challenge to the current President.

PDP chieftain Umar Sani also stated a preference for Jonathan as the party's presidential candidate over Peter Obi. The situation highlights the political dynamics within the PDP as they prepare for the upcoming election.
