Presidency Defends Tinubu Against Journalist Attack Claims

The Nigerian presidency, through Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Sunday Dare, has responded to allegations of rights violations against journalists who report on President Bola Tinubu. During an appearance on Channels Television's political program, Dare stated that the federal government has no interest in infringing on the rights of the people.

He emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not the architect of any presidential aid that would lead to attacks on journalists. Dare's comments come amid ongoing discussions about the treatment of the press in Nigeria, particularly concerning coverage of the current administration.

He reiterated that journalists should be allowed to perform their duties without fear of retribution, indicating a commitment to press freedom under Tinubu's presidency.
