Kaduna Governor Approves 70% Salary Increase for Tertiary Institution Workers

Governor Sani of Kaduna State has approved a 70% salary increase for academic and non-academic staff in tertiary institutions, effective from October 2025. The decision came after crucial meetings with the Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions (JUTIK) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The increase is part of the implementation of the 2009 CONPCASS and CONTEDISS salary structures, benefiting workers like Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic and College of Education staff. The move aims to address issues of retirement benefits, welfare, and workload pressures, ultimately ending industrial action and improving workers' conditions.
