JUST IN: ADC asks Tinubu to declare state of emergency in Katsina, Zamfara

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Katsina and Zamfara following a massacre in Malumfashi, Katsina, where a dozen worshippers and villagers were killed. The party criticized the Nigerian security system's collapse, with 140 lives claimed in the two states in two months.

ADC's national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, urged Tinubu to urgently address the situation and ensure the safety of citizens at home. The party expressed deep outrage over the recent killings and highlighted the need for a complete overhaul of the country's security architecture.

The statement also criticized the president for focusing on diplomacy abroad while people are dying at home, emphasizing the failure of the current system to protect citizens.
