ASUU Gears Up for Nationwide Strike Over Unmet Demands

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has initiated mobilization for a nationwide strike due to the government's silence on their demands. ASUU announced plans to shut down public universities across Nigeria, starting with a warning strike on September 28, escalating to a total indefinite strike.

The union cited the federal government's lack of response to their grievances as the reason for the action. ASUU President, Chris Piwuna, issued a notice to union branches, emphasizing lecturers' resolve to proceed with the strike until their demands are met.
