Atiku Abubakar Refuses to Step Down Amidst Speculation, Criticizes Bola Tinubu's Leadership

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has addressed rumors of stepping down for a southern candidate in the 2027 presidential race within the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Atiku emphasized that no aspirant in the ADC presidential race will pressure him to step aside, urging all qualified contenders to pursue their ambitions freely.

He criticized the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, blaming the administration for worsening economic hardships and shrinking democratic space in Nigeria. Atiku also accused the opposition party of deliberately weakening to ensure the dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
