Fatai Owoseni Withdraws from Oyo Governorship Primary

Fatai Owoseni, the former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, has officially withdrawn from the Accord Party's governorship primary in Oyo State. In a statement, he cited allegations of manipulation within the party's structure and rising violence as key reasons for his decision.

Owoseni, who previously served as a security adviser to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, expressed that recent developments within the party made it difficult for him to continue pursuing his governorship ambitions on the Accord Party platform. He described the situation as painful and distressing, particularly in light of recent terrorist attacks in Ogbomoso, and extended his condolences to the families affected.

Owoseni accused unnamed interests of infiltrating and manipulating the party's structure at the state level, which he believes has destabilized the primary process. Despite his withdrawal, he assured his continued support for the development of Oyo State.
