Federal Fire Service to Audit Buildings Nationwide After Lagos Fire Incident

The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has announced plans to conduct audits on public and private buildings nationwide following a fire outbreak at Afriland Tower in Lagos. The CG of FFS, Samuel Adeyemi Olumode, revealed that an investigation team has been deployed to determine the cause of the incident and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Recommendations from the investigation will be promptly implemented. Facility owners are urged to review safety measures, secure inverter generator rooms, unblock exit pathways, and train staff.

Olumode commiserated with those affected by the fire and praised the support of Minister of Interior, Olubunmi. This move aims to enhance fire prevention and accountability in the country.
