Nigerian Government Declares Kidnappers and Bandits as Terrorists, Strengthens Security Measures

The Federal Government of Nigeria has formally classified kidnappers and bandits as terrorists, signaling a tougher stance against the increasing incidents of violence across the country. The announcement was made in Abuja by the Minister of Information, Moham Idri, during a press briefing.

This decision allows security agencies to deploy stronger measures against these armed groups and individuals involved in kidnapping, attacks on farmers, and rural violence. The government aims to improve coordination among security and intelligence agencies to combat terrorism effectively.

Additionally, efforts to arrest international wanted criminals and deploy trained forest guards in remote areas have been initiated to enhance security and prevent future attacks, providing reassurance to affected communities.
