Former Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. Joy Ogwu Dies at 79 in New York

Prof. Joy Ogwu, a distinguished diplomat and former Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, died in a New York hospital at 79.

She served as Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and was widely respected for her diplomatic service. The Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) Director-General, Usman Sarki, expressed deep sorrow at her passing, describing her as a fine woman who represented Nigeria admirably.

Her death has been mourned by many for her contributions to Nigerian diplomacy.
