Dalung Calls Tinubu-Shettima Ticket Nigeria's Worst

Solomon Dalung, a former minister under President Muhammadu Buhari, described the Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima ticket as the "worst in Nigeria's history." This remark was made following the emergence of the Muslim-Muslim ticket during the 2023 presidential election, which sparked significant debate across the country. Critics argued that the pairing failed to reflect Nigeria's religious diversity, while supporters maintained that it was electorally competitive.

Despite the controversies surrounding the ticket, Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Shettima, the former governor of Borno State, won the election and were sworn into office on May 29, 2023. Dalung has been a consistent critic of the Tinubu administration and has repeatedly voiced opposition to the Muslim-Muslim ticket.
