NDC Rejects Fake Candidate List for Imo, Abia, Anambra

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) issued a statement on Friday, rejecting a purported list of candidates for the upcoming elections in Imo, Abia, and Anambra states. Ikenna Enekweizu, the party's national secretary, described the list circulating on social media as fake, misleading, and unauthorized.

The NDC emphasized that it had already submitted an authentic list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with electoral guidelines. The party warned its members against accepting the unauthorized document, which it claims is a deliberate attempt to create uncertainty within its ranks and mislead the public ahead of the elections.

Enekweizu accused unnamed individuals of spreading false information to destabilize the party and weaken internal confidence among its members. The NDC is taking the matter seriously and has begun efforts to trace the origin of the fake list, asserting its commitment to maintaining unity and strengthening its structure across the country.
