Oba of Benin Declares Fasting and Prayer to Ward Off Evil in Edo State

Oba of Benin, Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, has called for a fasting and prayer session in Edo State to ward off evil and ensure peace. The spiritual exercise will run from September 15 to 28, 2025, with the monarch urging all indigenes, residents, and diaspora members to participate.

The fasting, observed daily from 6 am to 6 pm, aims to seek blessings, peace, and protection from sudden death. This tradition, marking the commencement of the yearly new yam festival, is crucial for the well-being of the community and the nation at large.
