Peter Obi Speaks Out Against Lagos Trade Fair Demolitions

Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, visited the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex to address the recent demolitions that caused heavy losses to traders. The demolition of at least 19 buildings led to protests by traders who claimed the structures were duly approved.

Obi criticized the actions, stating they were discriminatory and detrimental to the livelihoods of many families. The traders, supported by various rights groups, accused the Lagos State government of unfair treatment.

Obi's visit aimed to show solidarity with the affected traders and highlight the need for proper resolution of the demolition issue.
