Nigerian House of Representatives Forms Committee to Harmonize Electoral Act Amendment Bill

The House of Representatives in Nigeria has set up a bipartisan conference committee to reconcile the differences in the Electoral Act Amendment bill passed by both chambers of the National Assembly. The committee, chaired by Rep. Adebayo Balogun, includes members like Fred Agbedi, Sada Soli, and others.

The goal is to engage with the Senate's counterpart committee to harmonize the bill and ensure a transparent and credible electoral process in Nigeria. This initiative reaffirms the commitment of the House to advancing electoral reforms and strengthening the democratic process in the country.

The Senate had earlier constituted its own conference committee to work on harmonizing the bill. The joint efforts of both chambers are expected to expedite the legislative process and reflect the consensus of the National Assembly.
