Nigerian Activist Sowore Re-arrested After Bail Granted Amid Protests

Nigerian activist Sowore was re-arrested immediately after being granted bail by a magistrate court in Abuja. This follows his initial arrest at the Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly meeting with Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Sowore was taken into custody by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command and is expected to be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja for different offenses. Justice James Omotosho granted bail to Sowore with restrictions on protests in certain areas of the FCT.
