Diezani Alison-Madueke Acquitted of Bribery Charges

Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources, was acquitted of six counts of bribery conspiracy by the Southwark Crown Court in London. The court found the 65-year-old not guilty of accepting kickbacks related to oil and gas contracts during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015.

Following the verdict, Alison-Madueke expressed her relief after a decade of what she described as unjust scrutiny and vilification. She conveyed her gratitude to her legal team, family, and friends for their steadfast support throughout the eleven-year ordeal.
