Tinubu Confirms Killing of ISIS Leader in Joint Operation

President Bola Tinubu confirmed the killing of senior Islamic State commander Abu Bilal al Manuki, also known as Abu Mainok, during a military operation conducted by Nigerian forces in collaboration with the United States. This operation targeted a known terrorist stronghold in the Lake Chad Basin, specifically in Northeast Nigeria.

Tinubu described the mission as a major breakthrough in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, reflecting strong international cooperation aimed at weakening extremist networks operating across Nigeria and the wider Sahel region. The operation was commended for its effectiveness, with preliminary intelligence confirming the death of al Manuki and several of his close associates.
