Kaduna Musician Mycah Dangata Arrested Amid Political Tensions

Mycah Dangata, whose real name is Zamani Musa, was reportedly arrested by security agents in Kaduna State on Tuesday. His arrest is linked to his political activism, particularly his campaign advocating for Southern Kaduna to produce the next governor, challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dangata has been vocal on social media, promoting the Kaduna Movement and supporting former senator Danjuma Laah as a potential candidate for the 2027 governorship elections. His detention has ignited widespread outrage, with supporters alleging political persecution aimed at silencing dissent ahead of the elections.

Sources indicate that Dangata's activism includes calls for voters to reject APC candidates and critiques of local government leadership appointments that predominantly favor Christian communities, which he argues undermines democratic processes.
