Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Sets Date to Defect to APC After Meeting Tinubu

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has scheduled his defection from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after a meeting with APC leader Bola Tinubu. The defection plan, previously delayed, was finalized during a late-night meeting with Kano State House of Assembly members.

Yusuf is expected to formally resign from NNPP on Saturday and publicly declare his APC membership on Sunday or Monday. Talks of engaging Rabiu Kwankwaso in the defection process did not materialize, as Kwankwaso reportedly remains unwilling to join APC, exploring alternative political alliances.
