Nnamdi Kanu Alleges State-Sponsored Killings in South-East Nigeria, Seeks US Intervention

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused the Nigerian government of state-sponsored killings of Judeo-Christian Igbo people in the South-East region. In a letter delivered to the US Embassy in Abuja, Kanu urged US President Donald Trump to intervene and prevent what he describes as an impending genocide.

Kanu specifically mentioned documented atrocities against the Igbo Christian population, including massacres in Nkpor, Aba, and Obigbo. He also alleged that Nigerian military and security forces are complicit in these attacks.

Kanu called for an international inquiry and named former Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen.

Tukur Yusuf Buratai, as one of the officials who should face US Magnitsky Act sanctions for human rights violations.
