Kanu Urges Enyimba Fans to Support Team Amid Crisis

Nwankwo Kanu, the chairman of Enyimba and a former international player, has called on the club's supporters to continue their backing as the team struggles in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season, currently sitting at the bottom of the league table with no wins in three matches. Kanu's appeal comes ahead of their fourth match against Sporting Lagos in Aba.

He acknowledged the fans' unwavering support during tough times and emphasized the importance of their encouragement as the team seeks to turn its fortunes around. The club is facing a leadership crisis, highlighted by a recent incident where sporting director Daniel Eke was involved in a confrontation during a training session, leading to the arrest of some officials.

This turmoil stems from a power struggle that began last season, with disputes over appointments for key positions, including the head coach and sporting director. Kanu believes that a victory against Sporting Lagos could ignite a resurgence for the team.
