Kebbi State Government Exposes NFF on FIFA Funded Stadium Ownership

The Kebbi State Government has revealed discrepancies in the ownership of a FIFA-funded stadium in Nigeria, leading to criticism of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for alleged lack of transparency in utilizing FIFA funds. The NFF received approximately $10 million from the FIFA Forward program in 2016 but is accused of making little progress in football development.

The Chairman of the Kebbi State Football Association, Abubakar Ladan, clarified that the state government provided the land for the stadium, contradicting claims that the NFF controlled it. Ganiyu Oloyed emphasized the importance of verifying information to avoid spreading misinformation.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau previously refuted reports of unpaid player bonuses dating back to 2021.
