Kogi State Vigilantes Arrest Kidnappers Sharing Ransom

In a recent operation in Egabada forest, two suspected kidnappers, Salisu Ladan and Sumaila Abuh, were arrested while distributing ransom they had collected from a victim. The operation was reportedly coordinated by the SSA to the Kogi State Governor on Zonal Security.

The gang, which had been terrorizing residents and travelers between Kogi and Enugu State, had successfully received ransom and released victims prior to their arrest. Local vigilantes and hunters acted on a tip-off, leading to the capture of Ladan and Abuh, while two other gang members, Babunga and Zafari, managed to escape.

The suspects confessed to kidnapping one person and receiving a ransom of N200,000. They were subsequently handed over to the authorities for further investigation, with the two arrested suspects transferred to the State CID.

The Kogi State Police Command was contacted for comments but did not respond at the time of the report.
