KCCN Hosts 5th National Taekwondo Coaches’ Seminar

The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN) hosted its 5th National Coaches’ Seminar in Abuja, focusing on improving Taekwondo coaching standards in Nigeria. The two-day seminar took place at the centre's Taekwondo hall and convened coaches from various sectors, including representatives from the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, military, police units, and tertiary institutions.

The program aimed to equip participants with updated techniques and strengthen their capacity to train athletes to meet higher competitive standards. The seminar's theme emphasized re-establishing fundamental competencies to improve the performance of Nigerian Taekwondo coaches.

Sessions included classroom instruction and intensive practical drills, facilitated by national team coaches and trainers from security agencies. Tayo Popoola, President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, highlighted the need for stronger governance and leadership within the sport.

Jeon Ju Ho, Director of KCCN, reaffirmed the centre's commitment to advancing Taekwondo in Nigeria through sustained training initiatives and bilateral sports exchanges.
