In a recent table tennis tournament for African players in the diaspora, young talent Matthew Kuti retained his title by defeating Basit Abdulfatai in a competitive final match held at the Alak Sport Complex in Abeokuta. The event, sponsored by various stakeholders including Allen Taylor Oluwafemi and Godswil Akpabio, received praise for its organization and showcased the skills of the players.

The tournament was attended by former national player and coach Waheed Ekun, who expressed satisfaction with the standard exhibited by the players. Charl Olayinka and Wale Ajetunmobi coordinated the event, which was also live-streamed for viewers to enjoy.
