Kwara APC Aspirant Protests Replacement of Candidate

Akeeb Sulaimon, an aspirant from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, protested on Saturday against the attempt to replace Musa Atoyebi as the party's candidate for the Odo Ogun State constituency. Atoyebi, who is the current Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, was identified as the younger brother of Bola Tinubu's aide-de-camp.

Sulaimon described the replacement bid as an attempt to undermine the party's democratic process and insisted that Atoyebi won the APC primary election for the constituency. He called on party leaders and stakeholders to respect the outcome of the primary elections and to avoid actions that could create confusion and disunity within the party.

Sulaimon emphasized the importance of upholding the democratic decisions made by party members to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections. He also noted concerns regarding Atoyebi's declining popularity and the dissatisfaction among constituents regarding his performance.
