Muslim Congress Congratulates New Chief Imam of Ilorin

The Muslim Congress (TMC) visited Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki, who was recently appointed as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, to congratulate him and seek unity among Muslims. Ustadh Harun Ali spoke on behalf of the group, expressing commitment to propagating Islam and promoting unity.

The appointment marks a significant chapter in the religious history of Ilorin, as Sheikh Dasuki is a long-time friend of the previous Imam, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu Al Fulani. Professor Nafiu Mikail from the University of Ilorin described the appointment as a response to the prayers of the Muslim community for continued progress in Islam.

Various leaders urged the Muslim community to support the new Chief Imam through prayers and loyalty, emphasizing the need for cooperation to successfully discharge his responsibilities. The visit included the presentation of a copy of the Holy Qur'an to Sheikh Dasuki, symbolizing support and goodwill for his tenure.
